BRIDGES' Girls Circles/Mini-Camp Sessions
Bring the 'Camp Experience' to YOU
BRIDGES Camp offers empowering after-school sessions that are affordable, local and on-going throughout the year. These Mini-Camps are uniquely developed for each group of 6-10 girls, using the BRIDGES’ Girls Circle structured peer support group model. Girls Circles are facilitated by BRIDGES' Director, Laurie Sliva.
What is BRIDGES' Girls Circle?
Structured support groups that integrate relational theory, resiliency practices, and skills training in a specific format designed to increase positive connection, personal and collective strengths, and competence in girls
Encourages girls to share experiences that are helpful to each other
When girls voice their ideas, opinions, and feelings in a safe environment, it strengthens their confidence and self-esteem and encourages them to express themselves more fully and critically think through their behavior and choices
Girls Circle is recognized as a “promising approach” in the Model Programs Guide (Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention): Outcomes showed significant increases in self-efficacy, body image, and social connection
