What if my daughter doesn’t know anyone or have any friends that are going to her camp session? Our camp is designed in a way that allows the girls to make quick friends with the other campers. They will be a part of small groups of 8 (their BRIDGES Girls Circle) that will meet 2-3 times per day with the same enthusiastic facilitator. They will also participate in large group activities where they will have fun and get to know all the other girls and staff. One theme of BRIDGES is Relationships, and many of the sessions help the girls to learn interpersonal skills, as well as how to build and maintain healthy relationships. She will truly put this into practice throughout the week, making life-long friends.
Note: If your daughter has friends who are interested in BRIDGES Camp for Girls, we offer a $50 tuition discount for every friend you refer who attends camp this year (the amount is reimbursed to you at the end of the session).
Would I have the opportunity to observe or be involved in camp? Yes, the final day of camp on Saturday, the parents/guardians are invited to join their daughters and get a taste of what camp meant to them. The girls will be presenting their “Pay-it-Forward” campaigns and will be honored in a ‘graduation’ ceremony.
What if my daughter is hesitant to go? While most girls choose to attend, it’s not unusual for some to be reluctant. They may feel uneasy about leaving their comfort zone of home, family and friends. This is normal, but most who were reluctant, end up having an amazing time! Our facilitators are skilled at building rapport and creating a sense of belonging. By the end of the first or second day, the girls feel comfortable and are enthusiastic to be a part of such a great group of young women!
